Allan Kaprow (Atlantic City, 1927 - Encinitas, 2006) was an American artist and theorist, arguably one of the most influential artist of his generation. A student of John Cage and Hans Hofmann, he organised the first happening in New York in 1959 and has since become known as its godfather. He introduced the concept of breaking down the barrier between artist and audience, transforming life itself into a stage.

Framart Studio in Naples was an international point of reference for the city’s Contemporary Art scene, working with artist from Land Art to Body Art.

Allan Kaprow (Atlantic City, 1927 - Encinitas, 2006) è stato un artista e teorico statunitense, tra i più influenti del ventesimo secolo. Allievo di John Cage e Hans Hofmann, nel 1959 a New York organizza il primo happening e da allora ne viene conosciuto come il padre. Introdusse il concetto dell’abbattimento della barriera tra artista e pubblico, trasformando la vita stessa in palcoscenico.

Il Framart Studio di Napoli è stato un punto di riferimento internazionale per la scena dell’arte contemporanea della città, lavorando con artisti dalla Land Art alla Body Art.
